چکیده

We construct wave packets for the hydrogen atom labelled by the classical action-angle variables with the following properties. i) The time evolution is exactly given by classical evolution of the angle variables. (The angle variable corresponding to the position on the orbit is now non-compact and we do not get exactly the same state after one period. However the gross features do not change. In particular expectation values remain peaked around the labels.) ii) Resolution of identity using this overcomplete set involves exactly the classical phase space measure. iii) Semi-classical limit is related to BohrSommerfield quantization. iv) They are almost minimum uncertainty wave packets in position and momentum. Coherent States for the Hydrogen Atom

The long-standing problem of nding coherent states for the (bound state portion of the) hydrogen atom is positively resolved. The states in question: (i) are normalized and parameterized continuously, (ii) admit a resolution of unity with a positive measure, and (iii) enjoy the property that the temporal evolution of any coherent state by the hydrogen atom Hamiltonian remains a coherent state f...

Coherent states for the hydrogen atom : discrete and continuous spectra

We construct the systems of generalised coherent states for the discrete and continuous spectra of the hydrogen atom. These systems are expressed in elementary functions and are invariant under the SO(3, 2) (discrete spectrum) and SO(4, 1) (continuous spectrum) subgroups of the dynamical symmetry group SO(4, 2) of the hydrogen atom. Both systems of coherent states are particular cases of the ke...

In this paper, by using the nonlinear coherent states on a sphere, we introduce superposition of the aforementioned coherent states. Then, we consider quantum optical properties of these new superposed states and compare these properties with the corresponding properties of the nonlinear coherent states on the sphere. Specifically, we investigate their characteristics function, photon-number d...

Coherent States for Discrete Spectrum Dynamics

Coherent states for general systems with discrete spectrum, such as the bound states of the hydrogen atom, are discussed. The states in question satisfy: (1) continuity of labeling, (2) resolution of unity, (3) temporal stability, and (4) an action identity. This set of reasonable physical requirements uniquely specify coherent states for the (bound state portion of the) hydrogen atom.

Dispersion of Klauder’s temporally stable coherent states for the hydrogen atom

We study the dispersion of the ‘temporally stable’ coherent states for the hydrogen atom introduced by Klauder. These are states which under temporal evolution by the hydrogen atom Hamiltonian retain their coherence properties. We show that in the hydrogen atom such wavepackets do not move quasiclassically; i.e. they do not follow, with no or little dispersion, the Keplerian orbits of the class...
